Our commitment to sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of our operations.
The Company recognizes that its operations, although primarily digital, have an environmental impact derived from the electricity consumption of its technological infrastructure (servers, development equipment), electronic waste generation, office materials consumption, and staff mobility. The Company has determined the external and internal environmental issues that are relevant to its purpose and that affect its ability to achieve the intended results of its Environmental Management System (EMS), including climate change, energy efficiency, waste management, and interested party expectations regarding sustainability.
The Company has identified relevant interested parties for the EMS, including Users, employees, cloud service providers, regulatory bodies, and the local community. The needs and expectations of these interested parties that are relevant to the EMS are determined and understood.
Company senior management demonstrates its leadership and commitment to the EMS through: (a) assuming responsibility and accountability for the effectiveness of the EMS; (b) establishing the environmental policy and environmental objectives; (c) integrating EMS requirements into the Company's business processes; (d) ensuring that resources necessary for the EMS are available; (e) communicating the importance of effective environmental management; and (f) promoting continuous improvement of the EMS.
The Company establishes the following Environmental Policy, approved by senior management, communicated throughout the organization, and available to interested parties: The Company is committed to protecting the environment through the prevention of pollution, climate change mitigation, and reduction of the environmental impact of its digital operations, in compliance with applicable legal requirements and other requirements subscribed to by the Company. This policy provides the framework for establishing and reviewing environmental objectives, promotes the efficient use of energy and material resources, encourages the selection of suppliers with environmentally responsible practices, and is periodically reviewed to ensure its suitability and adequacy to the Company's context.
The Company plans the actions necessary to address the risks and opportunities identified in the organizational context, including significant environmental aspects. The environmental aspects of the Company's activities, products, and services that may have a significant impact on the environment are identified, considering a life cycle perspective. The Company determines applicable legal requirements related to its environmental aspects, including regulations on waste management, energy efficiency, and emissions. Environmental objectives are established for relevant functions and levels, taking into account significant environmental aspects, applicable legal requirements, identified risks and opportunities, and available technological and financial options.
The Company provides the resources necessary for the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the EMS, including: (a) human resources; (b) technological resources; (c) financial resources; and (d) infrastructure resources. The Company determines and provides the necessary training for persons performing work under its control to become aware of the environmental policy, significant environmental aspects related to their work, their contribution to EMS effectiveness, and the implications of not conforming to EMS requirements. The Company establishes internal and external communications relevant to the EMS, including periodic reports on environmental performance.
The Company plans, implements, and controls the processes necessary to meet EMS requirements and to implement planned actions, including: (a) operational control of identified significant environmental aspects, such as energy consumption of servers and equipment, electronic waste generation, and paper and office materials consumption; (b) environmental management of service providers, prioritizing those that demonstrate environmentally responsible practices; (c) implementation of sustainable procurement criteria; and (d) emergency preparedness and response, establishing procedures to prevent or mitigate adverse environmental impacts that may arise from emergency situations.
The Company actively promotes the reduction of energy consumption through the optimization of its technological infrastructure, the selection of cloud providers using renewable energy, and the implementation of shutdown and energy-saving policies for equipment.
The Company performs monitoring, measurement, analysis, and evaluation of environmental performance through: (a) monitoring key environmental indicators, including energy consumption, waste generation, and estimated carbon footprint; (b) evaluation of compliance with applicable legal requirements and other requirements subscribed to by the Company; (c) conducting internal EMS audits at planned intervals; and (d) management review of the EMS at planned intervals to ensure its continued suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness, as well as its alignment with the Company's strategic direction.
The Company identifies improvement opportunities and implements the necessary actions to achieve the intended results of its EMS. When a nonconformity occurs, the Company: (a) reacts to the nonconformity, taking actions to control and correct it, and dealing with the consequences; (b) evaluates the need for actions to eliminate the causes of the nonconformity so that it does not recur or occur elsewhere; (c) implements any necessary action; and (d) reviews the effectiveness of any corrective action taken. The Company continually improves the suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness of the EMS to improve environmental performance.
