Commitment to protecting the health and safety of our collaborators in the work environment.
The Company recognizes that the occupational health and safety of its collaborators is a fundamental value and an essential requirement for the sustainability and success of its operations. The Company's main activity is the development and operation of a digital e-commerce platform and artificial intelligence-based customer service. Identified occupational hazards include, among others, ergonomic hazards derived from prolonged work in front of display screens, psychosocial hazards associated with workload and customer service, electrical hazards in the handling of computer equipment, and hazards related to visual fatigue and musculoskeletal disorders.
The Company has identified relevant interested parties for the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&S MS), including collaborators, contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and visitors. The needs and expectations of these interested parties are determined and understood.
Company senior management demonstrates its leadership and commitment to the OH&S MS through: (a) assuming responsibility and accountability for the prevention of work-related injuries and deterioration of health, as well as for the provision of safe and healthy workplaces and activities; (b) establishing the occupational health and safety policy and OH&S MS objectives; (c) integrating OH&S MS requirements into the Company's business processes; (d) ensuring that resources necessary for the OH&S MS are available; (e) communicating the importance of effective occupational health and safety management; and (f) promoting continuous improvement of the OH&S MS. Roles and responsibilities for occupational health and safety management have been defined.
The Company establishes the following Occupational Health and Safety Policy, approved by senior management, communicated throughout the organization, and available to interested parties: The Company is committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injuries and deterioration of health, eliminating hazards and reducing occupational risks through the hierarchy of controls. This policy provides the framework for establishing and reviewing health and safety objectives, includes the commitment to comply with applicable legal requirements, promotes consultation and participation of collaborators, and is periodically reviewed to ensure its suitability and adequacy to the Company's context.
The Company conducts periodic occupational risk assessments to identify hazards and evaluate risks to the health and safety of collaborators and other interested parties. The risk assessment process considers: (a) identification of hazards associated with work activities, including ergonomic, psychosocial, electrical, and safety risks; (b) identification of applicable legal requirements in occupational health and safety; (c) determination of improvement opportunities for the OH&S MS; (d) planning of actions to address identified risks and improvement opportunities; and (e) integration of these actions into OH&S MS processes. Occupational health and safety objectives are established for relevant functions and levels, which are measurable, consistent with the policy, and subject to periodic monitoring.
The Company provides the resources necessary for the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the OH&S MS. The Company determines the necessary competence of collaborators who affect or may affect OH&S MS performance, ensuring they are competent based on appropriate education, training, or experience. Occupational health and safety training and awareness programs are implemented, including: (a) initial training in occupational risk prevention; (b) specific training on ergonomic risks and active breaks; (c) training on stress management and psychosocial risks; (d) emergency response procedures; and (e) awareness of the importance of reporting incidents and unsafe conditions. The Company establishes internal and external communication mechanisms relevant to the OH&S MS, including consultation and participation of collaborators in the development and improvement of the system.
The Company plans, implements, and controls the processes necessary to meet OH&S MS requirements, including: (a) elimination of hazards and reduction of occupational risks through the hierarchy of controls (elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment); (b) change management for planned changes affecting the OH&S MS, including changes in processes, equipment, personnel, and regulations; (c) external procurement and acquisition of goods and services, ensuring OH&S MS requirements are integrated into procurement processes; and (d) emergency preparedness and response, establishing procedures to prevent or mitigate the consequences of potential emergency situations, including fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
For collaborators working remotely or in telecommuting mode, the Company provides specific guidelines for ergonomic workstation configuration, recommended active breaks, and communication channels for reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
The Company performs monitoring, measurement, analysis, and evaluation of OH&S MS performance through: (a) monitoring occupational health and safety indicators, including incident rate, accident rate, days lost to incidents, and percentage of training completed; (b) evaluation of compliance with applicable legal requirements and other requirements subscribed to by the Company; (c) investigation of incidents and accidents to determine their causes and take corrective actions; (d) conducting internal OH&S MS audits at planned intervals; and (e) management review of the OH&S MS at planned intervals to ensure its continued suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness, as well as its alignment with the Company's strategic direction.
The Company identifies improvement opportunities and implements the necessary actions to achieve the intended results of its OH&S MS. When an incident, accident, or nonconformity occurs, the Company: (a) responds promptly to control and correct the situation, including immediate medical attention if necessary; (b) investigates the incident to determine its causes and underlying deficiencies in the OH&S MS; (c) evaluates the need for corrective actions to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrence; (d) implements necessary actions; (e) reviews the effectiveness of corrective actions taken; and (f) updates the risks and opportunities identified during planning, if necessary.
